It’s that time of year again! Summer is just around the corner, but standing in our way of this much needed break is—you guessed it—exams. But not to fear; getting work done is much more enjoyable when in a pleasant setting. Here is your guide to the perfect study locations, apart from the typical Panera or Starbucks, where you can get maximum work done with minimal distraction.
Foxtail Coffee
1282 N Orange Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789
This cute new coffee shop is a great place to accomplish some studying. Foxtail’s stylish decor inside lends itself to a hip feel, and its delicious selection of pastries is an added benefit.
Austin’s Coffee and Film
929 W Fairbanks Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789
While this coffee shop definitely caters to the “anti-Starbucks” crowd, Austin’s is a very cozy space to work in. It has an eclectic vibe with a collection of cool art and board games, which provide a nice break from studying, and on top of that, it has great coffee.
Stardust Video & Coffee
1842 Winter Park Rd, Orlando, FL 32803
This laid-back coffee shop has a funky vintage vibe, complete with a wide array of DVDs, ambient lighting and interesting wall art. Its low-key atmosphere with lots of quiet spaces makes it a perfect exam study spot, where you can find yourself surrounded by others diligently working. My personal recommendation is to order the tater tots—just don’t get grease on your history textbook!
Whole Foods Market
1030 N Orlando Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789
What better way to cram for organic chemistry than to surround yourself with organic foods? Just kidding, but nonetheless, consider traveling to Whole Foods to knock out Avogadro’s number. The new Whole Foods has plenty of tables for studying while you enjoy a constant stream of organic foods.
DUO 58 Community Coffee Bar & Cafe
112 W Mitchell Hammock Rd #1112, Oviedo, FL 32765
This friendly neighborhood coffee shop is great for relearning Spanish vocab as you enjoy a delicious cappuccino. Its comfy seating and pleasant ambient lighting will take you away from your
everyday distractions and put you in the “study zone.”
An ENO hammock in a park on a pleasant day
Take advantage of our gorgeous (but sometimes a little toasty) weather and study outside. With the abundance of peaceful parks in Central Florida, you’ll never be at a loss of places to find a serene outdoor environment. Don’t have a hammock? A blanket works well to create your ideal zen bubble of studying.
