How often does The Voice come out?

The Voice is a monthly magazine, and new issues come out at the start of October, November, December, February, March, April (satire) and May.

How can I get a copy of The Voice?

The monthly issue is distributed to advisories during middle block (on C days) in the first or second week of the month. After distribution, you can find the most recent issue in the newspaper boxes located in front of Stuart Hall and the library.

Can I join the Voice staff?

Yes! The application opens every March for students interested in joining. If you are a rising freshman or sophomore, you will first have to take the Intro to Journalism semester-long elective; rising juniors and seniors can apply directly. Reach out to Mrs. Erin Miller with further questions.

How can I get interviewed for an article?

Writers will reach out directly to people they wish to interview. Occasionally, they may come to communal areas (the Grille, library, quad, etc.) to collect random student interviews. If you have specific ideas you think the paper should cover and think you would be a good interviewee, talk to a staff member.

If I am interviewed, do I get to see the article before it’s published?

No, interviewees are not allowed to see articles before publication, even if you are quoted in them. If you are extremely concerned, you may reach out to the staff member who interviewed you and ask to see just the quoted words they plan on using from your interview.

Can I write for The Voice without joining the staff?

No, only students who have applied and been accepted are allowed to write for The Voice and be privy to what happens in the newsroom.

Does The Voice produce other media besides the monthly newsmagazine?

Yes! The Voice has a website containing all articles published in the print issue along with online-exclusive articles. In addition, it produces a monthly podcast called SaintTalk, as well as a monthly broadcast found on YouTube. Short-form content can be found on our Instagram page. The website also includes weekly polls, games and more.

I solved the puzzle page! Do I get a prize?

Yes, the first few students in both middle and upper school to solve the puzzles on distribution day can claim a prize. Bring your completed puzzle page to the table set up in front of the auditorium during your lunch period; a staff member will check it and reward you accordingly.
