On Mar. 10, 2026, the Varsity Boys Volleyball team played a nail-biting game against Lake Highland Prep, ultimately ending in a Saints loss. Despite the final result, the team fought hard and took the Highlanders to an exhilarating fifth-set tie-breaker.
The Saints were proud of their improvement from their last matchup against Lake Highland. Not only was it the first time the Saints took a set from the Highlanders, but they won two! Captain of the team, Senior Owen Raffa, commends his teammates for the hard work and effort they put in during the game and throughout the season as a whole.
“(Lake Highland Prep) in the past has been a really tough team for us and this was the best we’ve done, so I’m really proud of the guys,” Raffa said.
Sophomore Julian Font shares his hope for the future of the team.
“It’ll be almost a powerhouse by the time (us sophomores) are in our senior year,” Font said. “We’ll be really good, so I have high hopes.”
The Varsity Boys Volleyball team will continue to improve throughout the rest of the season, with nine games left to fill the books. Their next opponent will be Jones High School on Tuesday. Mar. 24.
