Incoming seventh grader makes his mark on the school

Meet the newest member of the Trinity family, Jackson Bingham.

Bingham is a current seventh-grader, and the newest member of Trinity’s class of 2022. He recently moved to Florida from Baltimore, Maryland, and joined the school at the beginning of the spring semester.

Unlike most incoming seventh-graders, Bingham took the initiative to search for a school on his own when his dad got a job in the area.

“I wanted to look up schools to see which was the best fit for me,” he said.

He narrowed the choices down to Trinity and rival The First Academy, took a shadow day at both schools, and weighed his options.

“I felt more at ease at Trinity,” he said. “It was more of a place where I felt that I could grow. The First Academy felt very stressed and religious-based, which I didn’t like.”

Bingham described himself as a sports person.

“I love football,” he said. “It’s my main sport. I also love playing golf with my dad, because it’s a way for me to relate to him. He’s the one who got me into football as well.”

Some of his other interests include serving on student council and hanging out with friends. He wants to continue all of these, as well as possibly track, here at Trinity.

Even though he’s only been at Trinity for a week, Bingham already has a favorite class:  History with Ms. Mckinney.

“Besides gym, my favorite class would probably be history,” he said. “Ms. Mckinney makes it interesting. It’s more group-based, and I really like working with people.”

Bingham has enjoyed Trinity so far.

“To be honest, I love it,” he said. “I love the fact that it’s not just confined into one building or only a few classrooms.”
